War Museum on the Web for bringing history to life for School and University students in tandem with our 'Mobile War Museum' school visitations.

Sabre has a virtual War Museum on the Web based upon artefacts that we use for our school and university education programmes. We can also tailor a 'Mobile War Museum' package to bring real artefacts and primary source materials for students to see and get 'hands on' with.

We have utilised a wide variety of genuine period artefacts and documents to help bring history to life as part of the National History Curriculum for primary and high school students, and are also able to work with universities.

The web based museum dovetails into a broader programme that can feature student guides and questionnaires as well as interactive hands-on workshops with period artefacts and primary source materials.

This not only brings history to life, but enables meaningful discussions and irrefutable primary source evidence from the past to be examined.

Periods and workshops most in demand have been:

AUSTRALIA AT WAR AND PEACE KEEPING

We use a timeline of artefacts to show how Australians served in WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam and also in more recent conflicts. Sabre has recently taken many artefacts and also military vehicles to local schools as part of this initiative.

PROPAGANDA AND SYMBOLISM IN THE THIRD REICH

This important part of the national history curriculum shows students how powerful symbolism and propaganda were in the radicalisation of a nation during WW2, and how to avoid it happening again by using critical thinking and awareness. Real period artefacts help to hit home the reality of what occurred in the 30’s and 40’s in Nazi Germany.

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
