A WW1 Durch Krieg zum Sieg (Through War to Victory) German patriotic mortar and pestle. These were presented to pharmacies, labs and households who had donated their heavy mortar and pestles and other sought after metals for war production. Marked 1914-1917 on the reverse indicating a 1917 presentation date. Heavy iron with some outer silver finish, 1.8KG, mortar 12 cm high, 13 cm top diameter. Pestle 21cm.
