FILM ARMOURER CREW

OUR PEOPLE

Our Armourers are also people friendly team players

We aim to provide Armourers who are equally proficient with movie guns and with people. People skills are a pre-requisite with all of our Sabre Armourers in addition to their weapon related knowledge and skills.

It is our philosophy that as well as helping to keep cast and crew safe the Armourers also need to work happily and cohesively with a wide range of cast and crew personalities. Our people are uniquely equipped with this trait having not just Weapons, Military and Police experience but also numerous other instructional, leadership and genuinely people related skills.

Sabre has access to wide range of additional Military and Police subject matter experts who can work alongside us as advisors and extras.

Talan Miller

Talan has 35 years of professional experience with a wide range of weapons (both real and replica).   This includes six years in the Australian Army (Infantry and Armoured Corps) as well as working with major military museums, stage, film and television productions.

Creating museum and screen accurate versions of replica / imitation weapons is also a speciality.

With current sensitivities to real weapons on film sets in mind, he has a great deal of experience in using and modifying screen accurate imitations / replicas of weapons to look and act just like the real thing with film productions, museums and historical re-enactments.

He has many years of experience safely and successfully operating everything from pistols and submachine guns to assault rifles, heavy machine guns and artillery pieces (both real and replica versions) and armoured fighting vehicles.

He has also established successful businesses in the team and leadership development industry (for example Sabre Corporate Development www.SabreHQ.com ) and so ‘people skills’ are ingrained with all of our Sabre Armourers in addition to their weapon related knowledge and skills.
