Sabre Militaria consults to war museums and displays.

Sabre Militaria is proud to be assisting the Gold Coast Light Horse Education Museum with the creation of an important new series of war and peace museum displays designed to help educate visiting school and community groups.

The Gold Coast Light Horse Education Museum is something of a hidden gem, located at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds amongst the beautiful heritage-listed buildings and grounds of the historic Schmidt Farmhouse complex.

With some wonderful history, artefacts and displays already in place, the new Timeline of the Australian Soldier at War and Peace project aims to create a chronological journey through Australia’s military history for visiting students, families and community groups.

With Vietnam Veterans’ Day approaching, and many visiting school students having parents, grandparents or other relatives connected with more recent conflicts, we decided to begin with the Vietnam War and Iraq / Afghanistan eras.

It is still very much a work in progress. At this early stage there are some basic mannequins, uniforms, equipment and placeholder information on display, with many more original artefacts, interpretive panels and other items still to be added.

When completed, the timeline will take visitors from the Colonial era through the First and Second World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, more recent conflicts and Australian peacekeeping missions.

The Museum regularly hosts school and community groups for Patriotic Education and Military History workshops, helping younger generations connect with Australia’s military heritage through artefacts, stories and hands-on learning.

It is a military / war museum well worth visiting and supporting. Several ex-military members of the Sabre team regularly volunteer their time and help with projects, displays and educational activities at the Museum.

You can find the Gold Coast Light Horse Education Museum on Facebook, or visit at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds:

Wednesdays: 0900–1200

Sundays: 1000–1300

Group visits can also be arranged by booking.

There is plenty more to come as the Timeline of the Australian Soldier at War and Peace continues to grow.

Sabre helps military / war museums with their displays and workshops.
