Patriotic WW1 German Iron Watch Chain and Coin (G205)

Patriotic iron watch chain and coin for the 1916 exchange of gold items for iron patriotic symbols to aid the war efforts.
 
Iron watch-chain, obling links with a swivel at each end, with two cast oval links, one with the Prussian coat-of-arms on each side, the other with the date 1916 and the text GOLD ZUR WEHR / EISEN ZUR EHR (Gold for weapons, iron for honour), on each side.
 
Germany ran exchanges of gold jewellery and other items in exchange for iron patriotic items to help fund their war efforts.
