Very Rare 1932 Anti Nazi Newspaper Trio (G1057)

A very rare surviving original example of 3 x 1932 issues of Der Gerade Weg (The Straight Path).
 
An exceptional archive of three original, complete 1932 editions of Der gerade Weg ("The Straight Path"). Edited by the legendary, martyrdom-bound journalist Dr. Fritz Gerlich, this publication was the spearhead of intellectual resistance against the rise of the NSDAP in Weimar Germany.
 
Following the Nazi seizure of power in March 1933, the newspaper’s offices were brutally raided by the SA, Gerlich was arrested (later executed at Dachau), and outstanding copies were systematically confiscated and destroyed. Surviving original issues from the crucial 1932 election cycle are exceptionally rare on the open market.
 
This highly desirable chronological trio captures the publication at the absolute zenith of its pre-war resistance:
 
6 March 1932 (Issue No. 10) – The "Holy Grail" Edition: Features the world-famous front-page "Open Letter to Adolf Hitler" ("Herr Hitler, wer hat Sie gewählt?") by Father Ingbert Naab. A monumental piece of anti-fascist history heavily targeted for destruction by the early regime.
17 April 1932 (Issue No. 16): Printed in the immediate, high-stakes aftermath of the 1932 German Presidential Election, featuring scathing commentary on the future of the Weimar Republic.
15 May 1932 (Issue No. 20) – The Treason Exposé: Features Gerlich’s prophetic and aggressive headline exposé, "Landesverrat und Hitlerpartei" ("High Treason and the Hitler Party"), directly accusing the NSDAP of working to destroy German democracy.
 
As is standard for highly acidic 1930s newsprint, the papers have been historically stored folded. There is natural age-toning, expected shelf wear, and minor tearing/splitting along the cross-fold lines.
