A brief history of Sabre - Not just the new kids on the block.

The Directors are established collectors of militaria (for over 40 years) from virtually all periods of history and have been involved with militaria, military vehicles and weapons (both real and replica) since the 1980's in a variety of ways:

As members of the ADF (RAINF, RAAC, RACT and Training Units). As military advisors / theatrical ordnance suppliers to the film and TV industries (local and international productions). Working within large military museums. As designers of military themed corporate training programmes to major clients. As dealers / traders in militaria, military antiques and equipment.

Sabre Militaria indulges our loves of militaria, military history, collecting and online trading in militaria to circulate our own collection and to help others do the same. This is a boutique business to compliment our passion for militaria collecting and business ventures in other industries.

We hope that you will find something great on this site for your own personal collection.

BRIEF TIMELINE OF SABRE'S HISTORY:

1984 / 1985

The first evolution of the organisation was called 'Movie Militaria' in partnership with, and based at, The Gold Coast War Museum. Movie Militaria acquired militaria (ranging from WW1 to present era gear) and military vehicles for film and TV productions. A wide range of real / live blank fire weapons, replica weapons and ordnance were also provided, as well as military advisory services and military trained extras. Some dabbling was also done in military themed corporate events at Gold Coast conference venues.

1988

Movie Militaria developed a dedicated arm called 'Adventure Conventions' to expand its corporate team building and leadership events that had a military theme. The first concept was called the 'Corporate Strike Force' which is still being run with a wide range of business clients.

1991

Adventure Conventions re-branded the corporate event services into 'Sabre Corporate Development / Sabre Team Building'. This venture diversified the portfolio of event and development themes and options using former and some active military personnel to develop team and leadership development skills with business and government clients.

2002

Sabre relocated from its Gold Coast War Museum offices when the current Directors bought out the other half of the business.

2010

Sabre Militaria partially assumed the role of the original Movie Militaria to assist film and TV productions and provide theatrical ordnance and advising using former military personnel. The venture was also used to trade in militaria and military antiques to help circulate the private militaria collections of the Directors.

2013

Sabre Militaria website created to enable an extensive online platform for Militaria and now also the sale of an extensive range of quality Denix Replica Weapons.

SO SABRE MILITARIA AND ITS HIGHLY EXPERIENCED TEAM OF EXPERTS ARE FAR FROM 'NEWBYS' IN THIS FIELD ;)
