Denix Replicas make a great Star Wars Cosplay Blaster Project: The C96 Broom Handle Mauser as Han Solo DL-44 Blaster and the MG34 as a DL-19 Heavy Blaster.

The Star Wars films are forever part of movie history and were magic childhood moments for many of us. Those with a keen eye for weapons have likely also noticed over the years that some classic guns ended up becoming iconic sci-fi Blasters.

The Star Wars films, especially the 70’s and 80’s originals, are famous for their weapons having a more ‘real world’ look as opposed to the tacky ‘ray gun’ looking weapons of the sci-fi genre films before them.

This was a quite deliberate approach by George Lucas, who worked with crew members like Roger Christian to take actual weapons (some WW2 era) and modify them to become ‘Blasters’ in the Star Wars Universe.

Two of the most famous and recognisable weapons used were the C96 broom Handle Mauser pistol, and the MG34 Machine Gun.

We stock quality reproductions made by Denix, and these can also serve as the basis for a great screen accurate Blaster project for Cosplay or static display. Many fans use the Denix replicas to then build up with accessories to create their own Blasters.

The C96 Broom Handle Mauser = Han Solo’s DL-44 Blaster

Fan law has it that Han’s iconic Blaster was owned by Tobias Beckett, then an Alliance General before it became the sidearm of choice for the famous intergalactic smuggler. It was carried by the character before the Galactic Civil War, throughout the battles between the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire, and was at his side when he was killed 30 years later at the Starkiller base.

The MG34 Machine Gun (arriving mid 2021) = The DLT19 Heavy Blaster

The DLT – 19 heavy blaster rifles are famously used by Imperial Stormtroopers of the Galactic Empire as well as Bounty Hunters and some Rebel Alliance Troopers.

It is our hope that Denix also have on the drawing board a replica Sterling Submachine Gun that served as the basis for the truly iconic E11 Blaster (you know, the one that they always seem to miss the hero characters with / needs new sights).

If you are looking for a full size and weight metal replica to build a great Cosplay or display piece, we'll be delighted to assist.
