The Sabre team occasionally steps away from the office and warehouse to serve as Film Armourers, Theatrical Ordnance Suppliers, and Military Technical Advisors for film, television, and stage productions.

Jumping from the18th-century with bushrangers and cowboys, to recreating the chaos of the Vietnam War, and moving through to modern-day special forces operators and PMCs — all within a single year — it’s been an exciting time-travelling journey through history and imagination for our team.

Our involvement with the movie industry dates back to our very first business venture in 1988, when Sabre team members worked on Gold Coast-based productions like the Mission Impossible TV series and feature films such as Blood Oath.

Since then, we’ve continued to keep a hand in the industry, contributing to numerous productions as well as large-scale “theatre-in-the-round” performances using blank-fire weapons at living history events and immersive, military-themed corporate experiences.

More recently, we’ve been proud to return to the feature film world as armourers for productions including Bring Him to Me (starring Sam Neill), Primitive War (with Jeremy Piven, Ryan Kwanten, and Tricia Helfer), and as armourers and military advisors for 7 Snipers (with Tim Roth, Radha Mitchell, and Ioan Gruffudd).

We love collaborating with creative teams to help bring stories to life with both authenticity and safety. Of course, there are times when storytelling, fantasy, or simply the “rule of cool” takes precedence over strict realism — and in those cases, compromises are always reached with a spirit of cooperation and fun.
