The Walther PP designated pistols (Polizeipistole / Police Pistol) were initially designed and manufactured as compact police pistols, the most well-known being the PPK version (Polizei Kriminal / Police Pistol Detective).

They started their service as a concealable police pistol in 1930, and with the outbreak of WW2 became widely issued to high ranking German Officers as well as pilots as a small sidearm.

It is also known as the pistol used by Hitler to end his life in the bunker in 1945.

Ian Fleming Hollywood have perhaps been most instrumental to this pistol’s fame portraying it as the weapon of choice for the character James Bond 007. Even the central character of the satirical take-off of the spy genre Austin Powers, uses a Walther PPK.
